The EU began to apply the AI Act: First Questions were sent to Model Providers

The AI Act of the European Union has now passed out from a theoretical framework. EU regulatory institutions started to implement the law by sending first official information requests (Request for Information) to AI model providers. This step refers to the beginning of a new era for technology companies.
The first move of the EU includes:
- Detailed information requests for security and compliance protocols from model providers Home
- Investigations on training data and ethics of artificial intelligence systems
- Identification and classification of high risk AI applications
- Determination of transparency and accountability standards
- Targeting all major model providers operating in the European market
These information requests are intended to seriously implement the EU’s AI Act to collect the necessary data. Regulators are trying to figure out which companies adapt to the law, in which areas they need to improve. The first RFIs prepare the ground for future audit and criminal operations.
This period for technology firms means that compliance costs will increase, operational changes will be inevitable. The EU has made it a prerequisite for all AI models working on its territory. In the industry, this new regulatory environment quickly adapts.
