EU Calls ChatGPT to Tight Control Gold

The European Commission announced ChatGPT’s status of “Multi-Great Online Platform” within the Digital Services Act (DSA). With this decision, OpenAI will be subject to much harder regulations than the previous general rules. Reddit and Roblox will be subjected to similar obligations by incorporating the same category.

New responsibilities of OpenAI include:

  • Precaution against the protection of unequal users and the influence of mental health
  • Development of mechanisms that prevent the spread of illegal content
  • Reduction of risk that threatens user safety
  • Transparency reporting and audit compatibility

The Digital Services Act is a comprehensive arrangement of force in 2024 by the European Union. The purpose of the law is to control the impact of large technology platforms on society and protect user rights. Classification of artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT is an important sign of how these technologies are evaluated in legal terms.

This development shows that the artificial intelligence industry is increasingly subject to more editing. OpenAI will have to develop systems that meet EU standards in a short time.
