Technology giants like Amazon and Microsoft end up their privacy policy that they use for a long time. They will no longer use privacy agreements (NDA) in data center agreements with local administrations. This move is a direct result of increased public response around artificial intelligence infrastructure projects.

Causes behind transparency step:

  • The increase of tradition opposition: Hundreds of local governments from New York to San Francisco presented or put into force against data center projects
  • Improve the unsecuredness of the public: Non-existing agreement conditions have deepened doubt against technology companies, and misleaded the opposition Tags
  • Recabet advantage and reputation risk:Transparency policy can improve consumer trust and create a good location in the face of competitors

The timing of this change is important. While consumers are prepared to give access to AI agents, transparency demands on infrastructure projects are further rising. However, the opening will not be enough alone. Mahalli communities may require concrete palates about the real impact of these projects rather than just access to information.

This step of Amazon and Microsoft can be considered as the first sign to set a new standard in the industry.
