The AstroLab series of Arturia was one of the best options among the scenes keyboards already. But the new firmware update converts the device into a real sound design business station for professional musicians. This development in music industry shows how critical hardware synthesizers are software support.

Before the update, AstroLab was a preset browser, mainly placed in a large plugin library of Arturia on a portable device. Users were able to adjust lightly with four macro controls and the effect was able to join, but they were unable to access in-depth synthetizer parameters for actual audio design. This limitation was only used in stage performances rather than studio recording.

The new update brings the following features:

  • ** Access to complete Synthetizer parameters** - Direct control to all osillator, filter and parcel settings
  • Derinsing patch editing - Ability to take the Preseti from scratch or existing sounds further
  • Intuition modulation options - Complex sound design structures with LFO and layout routing
  • Wav editor integration - Customize sampled instruments and pianos

This change radically expands the sound production workflow of AstroLab users. Now the device becomes a complete tool to create new sounds in the studio environment beyond just playing pre-designed sounds. Especially for music makers and sound designers, this offers the ability to use portable hardware as a more serious tool.

This move of Arturia shows how hardware synthesizers will continue long term of software support. While the director AstroLab stays ideal for stage performances, it can now play a meaningful role in the studio.
