OpenAI presented a special ChatGPT version for teenagers in August. Security barriers and educational functions were kept in the forefront. However, Common Sense Media, focusing on child media security, states that the protections provided by this version are not enough, and the product is attributed as “a unacceptable risk”.

Based on the assessment of Common Sense Media, basic problems are:

  • Ebeveyn notifications are missing: The platform is worth warning parents about their children’s chat activities Tags -No security promises were met: I was not fully implemented the protection specials that OpenAI delivers in advance Tags
  • Limited filter against hidden content: Unsuitable header blocking capacity insufficient
  • Data privacy concerns: We continue ambiguities about the personal information of young people

Children’s security experts express that rapid developments in the field of artificial intelligence are particularly behind editing and testing processes for young users. The report of Common Sense Media draws the gold of the security standards should be applied more stringent before offering technology companies to the market.

OpenAI did not yet respond to these criticisms. The topic has been re-Updated in the influence discussions on young people of digital platforms.
