IPGeoAI: Re-Definition of IP Geography with Transformer Architecture

The complex structure of the Internet infrastructure makes traditional IP positioning methods increasingly difficult. Setting the right IP location at the city level is based on many services from content distribution to protection of digital rights. A new study published in arXiv offers a transformer-based solution.
The system called IPGeoAI addresses basic issues:
- Complex and non-linear structure of modern network infrastructures, classical database and invention methods are insufficient
- The rapid expansion of the IPv6 address area is limited to the scalability of traditional methods
- Mobile networks and temporary connections make static positioning models ineffective
- Need multilayer data analysis for city level accuracy
- Needs artificial intelligence systems that understand the meaningal context
In addition to the innovative research, transformer architecture fusion of semantic knowledge provided by large language models (LLM). This approach can explore contextual relations and hidden patterns in network infrastructure behind IP addresses. The system works not only with numerical data, but by analyzing the meaningal structure of the network hierarchy.
Practically, such developments can provide higher accuracy in local content presentation, targeted advertising and pirate content monitoring. Especially in the age of 5G and IoT, the IP positioning on mobile and temporary networks has become a critical need.
IPGeoAI is a concrete progress that is realized in the intersection of AI and network technology. Such research will continue to make digital ecosystem smarter and efficient.
