When the Justice system is supported by artificial intelligence, the biggest challenge is to find balance between consistency and flexibility. A new research published in arXiv offers a comparison platform called JusticeAxis to address this problem. The study examines how to model and evaluate judge judgments in legal judgment.

Available artificial intelligence systems remain in two extremes:

  • Solid rule matching: Systems, contexts and conditions that apply laws mechanically
  • Basicless discretion: models that do not have any legal basis, completely subjective decision-making Home
  • Referans-connected approach: JusticeAxis requires that decisions depend on both laws and real events
  • I believe-odized assessment: It allows the system to withstand not only labels or ratings, but real legal information

The basic claim of the research is that three items should work together for a solid legal judgment: the law to be applied, the built-in facts and the conditions that these facts arise. The available comparison methods often browse this complexity using artificial labels.

This study offers a methodologyal contribution to the development of legal AI systems. JusticeAxis framework allows for testing more reliable and clear decision-making models that can be integrated into justice system. Similar approaches in the future can also be applied in other complex decision making areas.
