Microsoft is preparing for a large change in Microsoft 365 subscription. Last year, AI attributes integrated to Office were firstly limited to the fact that only primary accountholder can use. Now the company will allow Family and Premium subscribers to share AI benefits with each other by changing this situation.

The scope of changes made is quite wide:

  • Copilot and AI properties Up to six people in Family and Premium package
  • Access to OneDrive storage space and Office applications can still be used by all family members
  • Advanced features such as artificial intelligence-supported writing, graphic creation and code aid will now be accessible in group
  • Change was officially announced with the Microsoft email obtained by The Verge

This decision can be considered an important addition to the AI strategy of Microsoft. The organization focused on delivering Copilot and other AI tools to more people. For home users where family package is particularly popular, this means the opportunity to benefit more economically than Office and AI capabilities.

Although the future of sharing isn’t yet clear when it’s going to be active, the change will soon happen with the notice that Microsoft subscribers sent. The technology company aims to introduce AI tools to a wider audience with this move.
