Machine learning research continues to reconcile basic mechanics of how models are trained. A new study published in arXiv examines the factors that determine what the ranking of the contradiction rules encountered in the educational process will be written into the model parameters.

Basic findings of research:

  • The problem of the person, different rules: The model was trained with the same problems written in mathematically equally correct but under two non-compliant.
  • The speed calendar plays a critical role: Which rule will be “written” to parameters or which will be mainly determined by the selection of the learning speed calendar.
  • Materialal separation: The researchers proved a limit that shows how the arrangement and calendar influences the ranking effect; these two factors are distorted as colleague.
  • Convention-agnostic measurement: It shows that the effect may be completely zero under the measurement frames that are not connected to a specific rule.

This finding highlights how sensitive models are to structural features of educational data and what is critical to the design of learning apps. An apparent technical parameter, such as the speed of learning, actually functions as a “average operator” that determines how the model will decide between contradictory information. This result opens a new window to the deep learning optimization theory and starts to reveal the hidden effect on the model behaviour of the selection of hyperparameter.
