NetBSD 9.5 Published, Supporting NetBSD-9 Series is Announced

NetBSD project announced the version of the open source Unix-like operating system 9.5. This version refers to the end of the life cycle of the NetBSD-9 series and shows that the transition to NetBSD-10 series comes from time.
NetBSD-9 series is now receiving EOL (End of Life) status:
- 9.5 will be the last and final version of NetBSD-9 family
- Next all security patches and fixes will focus on NetBSD-10 series
- Users and managers should upgrade as soon as possible
- NetBSD-10 series has more modern features and improvements
- Required to switch to NetBSD-10 or new versions for long term support
Such version cycles are normal in open source community. In the ongoing projects such as NetBSD, the support of old series is directed to new versions of resources after a certain time. This step plays a critical role to ensure the sustainability and update of the project.
For NetBSD users, this is the time of planning to switch from 9.5 to NetBSD-10 series. System requirements and compatibility should be checked when the upgrade is planned.
