The PlayStation brand is located in the heart of millions of players, but there are many unknown pages on Sony’s history: PSX. Along with mixing with the first PlayStation, PSX was actually a completely different console project, and almost simply smeared the market in Japan.
PSX was specifically designed as a developed version of PS2 and had quite interesting features:
- DVR Operations: Console has digital video recording and storage capacity -High Performance: Includes advanced hardware components compared to standard PS2 -**: The project remained almost completely in Japan market and Western players never see this device in the shelves
- Marketing Problems: Sony’s international strategy error blocked the global success of the console
Despite being technologically advanced, PSX time has been a product in very advanced, and marketing deficiencies have caused commercial failure. Sony exhibited a more careful approach in the launch of PlayStation 3, taking lessons from this experience.
Today PSX remains as a memorable moment on the game history; what is a complete success nor a full fiyasko, just a try.
