Non Transformer Language Model With Rust: PSSA

In the world of artificial intelligence development, transformer architecture has been dominant paradigm for the past years. However, a new project called PSSA draws attention from a different path outside this dominant approach. This language model written entirely from Rust shows the potential of alternative architectures.
The basic features of PSSA can be summarized as follows:
- Transformer is not dependent on architecture: Different from traditional language models, it offers a structure that adopts a completely different design philosophy
- ** Developed with Rust**: System programming language is preferred for high performance and memory efficiency Tags
- Open source code: By sharing on GitHub, it is possible to examine and improve by community -**: An independent implementation was provided by minimizing addiction to Varolan libraries
- GitHub scored 33 points: According to positive interest from the Hacker News community, the technical value was revealed
This project addresses a rooted problem in language model development. The widespreadization of transformer-based models has limited the research of alternative architectures. PSSA can be considered as a bold experience that tries to fill this gap.
The logic behind the Rust preference may be that most of the language models are written with Python and their performance problems are experienced. Rust as the system language offers an important speed advantage in such applications. Due to its open source, other developers can also contribute to this study and provide the emergence of new findings about alternative language model architectures.
