California has been approved by new laws to organize how to use artificial intelligence systems in employment decisions. This legislation is restricted to AI algorithms for companies to conquer workers or perform performance and aims to protect employees from automated decision-making processes.

The basic provisions of the new law are:

  • It is forbidden to withstand AI and automatic systems in workers’ fesih decisions
  • More stringent restrictions were brought in in the use of AI in employee monitoring systems
  • The obligation to inform employees before making AI-based decisions of employers was created
  • Protection mechanisms were placed against the risk of obliges and discrimination
  • Transparency and accountability requirements were increased in decision-making processes

This arrangement was taken in a period of discussions on how technology should be used in the workplace. With the rapid prevalence of human resources automation tools, the risks of the violation of algorithmic retardation and labor rights have become increasingly concerned.

This step of California was positively met by AI ethicsists and workers rights defenders. Other states are also expected to remove similar legislation, and such regulations are likely to create tracers for future AI usage.
