When purchasing smartphones and portable devices, the battery capacity numbers we face often do not directly identify the actual usage time of the device. Although battery capacity and battery life are two concepts that are often mixed, these are completely different things and each is important factors that affect the performance of the device.

Basic differences between battery capacity and life are as follows:

  • Kapasite is the total amount of energy measured as nationalamper clock (mAh); **The battery shows how efficiently it can offer energy
  • High number of mAh does not guarantee the long usage time alone because it does not take into account power consumption or software optimization
  • Two devices with same capacity can offer very different battery life due to different hardware components and software architecture
  • Display technology, processor efficiency and background applications significantly affect actual battery life
  • Aging batteries begin to discharge faster in time, despite initial capacities

The factors that determine the battery life of a device are much more complex. Software optimization plays more important role in energy efficiency and user behavior of hardware components, pure capacity figures. Although manufacturers sometimes do marketing with high mAh numbers, this statistics should determine your decision to purchase alone.

As a result, rely on actual world usage tests and independent assessments when choosing a new device, it will be a smarter decision than just looking at battery capacity numbers.
