Tesla revealed that the third quarter results had decline in vehicle sales compared to the previous year. This regression is associated with the end of the federal electric vehicle tax loans that are operating in 2023. Despite this, the company’s performance exceeds analyst expectations and shows that the healing trend in the electric vehicle market starts acceleration.

The production figures clearly reveal the power of Tesla:

  • Total 464.391 vehicles were produced in July-September 2024
  • Model 3 and Model Y series passed 457.387 vehicle out
  • 7,004 vehicles were produced from other segments including Cybertruck, Cybercab and Tesla Semi
  • quarters remaining from the advantage of the tax credit of the previous year

The sales drop is the result of the last year to hurry to benefit from the tax discount of consumers. In that period, Tesla had an exception to the purchase request. This year, the company, which returns to a more balanced and sustainable sales line, has successfully passed the predictions of Wall Street. When the long-term growth potential of the electric vehicle market is considered, this result indicates that Tesla is in a stable position.

The company’s recovery process continues and new product launches can help protect this momentum.
