Beehiiv, which become the powerful opponent of Substack, increases its prices to improve platform experience. However, this decision was not particularly well met in the eyes of creative and newsletter publishers. CEO Tyler Denk said that he will invest in the company’s platform infrastructure.

The pricing change of Beehiiv took place as follows:

  • Scale plan was renamed and is offered as “Lite”
  • The fee of fee increased at least 10 dollars, can be higher than the number of subscribers
  • Creatives that subscribe to 10,000 are also affected by this increase
  • The platform legitimateizes the change with the promise of improving user experience

Many users mentioned that the price rise in response to social networks is timeless. Such decisions on creative economy platforms directly affect the budget of smaller publishers. The advantage of the competition against the Substack of Beehiiv is already limited, this move can lead some users to alternative platforms.

The company will be important to respond to these reactions in future months. If the platform is successful in this unstable investment efforts and can offer concrete improvements, it can keep user loss at a minimum level in the long run.
